Houston Food Bank's Capital Campaign
Although we live in a seemingly affluent community, close to 900,000 people lack access to enough food to meet basic needs. To secure food, these hungry individuals turn to more than 400 food pantries, soup kitchens, school programs and other agencies for assistance.
These organizations receive the majority of the food they distribute from the Houston Food Bank. To distribute more food to needy people and families in our community we have embarked on a $55 million capital campaign to
- Purchase a warehouse and distribution facility that will allow us to distribute 300% more food
- Provide infrastructure and operating assistance to many of our agency partners to help them distribute more food
