Getting started as a Community Service Volunteer

If you have a community service requirement from the court, then you will need to attend a mandatory orientation session at our facility before any community service hours can be fulfilled.

If your mandate was given by Harris County, please refer to the middle of your yellow paper you were given with the agency name and address. If the address is 3811 Eastex Freeway, you will be working at our Hertzstein Facility. If the address is 9300 Hempstead Highway you will be at our JC Penny facility. All other courts must go to the Hertzstein Facility.

Hertzstein Facility

We accept all courts at Hertzstein and those from Harris County who were assigned to 3811 Eastex Freeway.

Orientation sessions are held the first and second Tuesday of every month from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The orientation lasts about 1 hour. You do not need to pre-register.

You must arrive promptly at 3:30 p.m. with all the necessary court documentation concerning your community service assignment. You must stay for a full shift each visit.

JC Penny Facility

JC Penny is ONLY for those mandated to 9600 Hempstead Highway by Harris County.

Orientation sessions are held the third and fourth Tuesday of every month from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The orientation lasts about 1 hour. You do not need to pre-register.

You must arrive promptly at 3:30 p.m. with all the necessary court documentation concerning your community service assignment. You must stay for a full shift each visit.
