The Houston Food Bank is one of the most exciting spaces in Houston. Our award-winning facility is bustling with volunteers and filled with tremendous energy from a collective force of community partners who work together to provide food for better lives in southeast Texas.
Our Conference Center can accommodate events and meetings for groups ranging from 10 to 400 during regular business hours and some evenings and weekends. To make your event more meaningful, consider including a volunteer activity!

Houston Food Bank has exclusive catering in support of our mission. When you utilize our services for meetings and events, you are not only providing superior food and service for your guests, you are also helping to provide nutritious meals.
With onsite catering readily available for any occasion, Houston Food Bank requires all food and drinks be ordered directly through 535 Catering while at or utilizing our facility.
535 Catering operates separately from the Houston Food Bank’s warehouse. No product used by the catering department in the preparation of meals is from product donated to or purchased by the Food Bank for distribution to partners.

Consider adding a volunteer shift before or after your Conference Center visit. Before booking time in one of our conference rooms, we recommend setting up your volunteer shift first through our online registration calendar. With a scheduled volunteer shift, groups will receive 1 hour of complimentary time in one of our available conference rooms. (Check room availability by emailing ConferenceCenter@houstonfoodbank.org)
The Houston Food Bank developed the HFB Conference Center at the Portwall facility to better serve our community and our donors. The HFB Conference Center provides event and meeting spaces, with minimal facility usage fees. The facility can accommodate small meetings of 10 or less, or larger events of up to 400 people.
Who is eligible to use the HFB Conference Center?
HFB welcomes corporate groups, nonprofits, and professional groups. HFB welcomes social groups on a case by case basis.

What are the costs for holding an event?
The Houston Food Bank charges minimal fees to cover the costs of holding outside events. Please see the corporate meeting fee schedule or social and after hours events fee schedule for more details.
What is required to hold an event at Houston Food Bank?
- Signed Facility Use and Policy Agreement, and payment information
- Some groups may be required to submit a Certificate of Insurance with minimum $1,000,000 general liability insurance (see Event Liability Insurance). A tenant user TULIP policy may be provided (see Fee Structure).
When is the HFB Conference Center open for events?
Our facility is open during business hours for corporate meetings and will stay open after hours for approved social events. Fees apply after 6:00 p.m.

What are the different event spaces, and capacities?
The HFB Conference Center offers spaces for meetings and events for 10-400 attendees. Please see the Room Packet for descriptions of the spaces available. Please note that all room capacities are approximate and will depend on your seating and configuration preferences.
What can the Houston Food Bank provide for my event?
The Houston Food Bank offers a limited supply of equipment and furnishings, including audio/video equipment, tables/chairs and catering. Please request additional information about specific items necessary for your event.
What are the benefits to using 535 Catering for my event?
Houston Food Bank has exclusive catering in support of our mission. When you utilize our services for meetings and events in our Conference Center, you are not only providing superior food and service for your guests, you are also helping to provide nutritious meals for the many neighbors in need in Greater Houston and southeast Texas.

Yes. Thanks to the assistance of volunteer groups, the Houston Food Bank is able to help communities across our 18 county service area through our network of more than 1,600 partners. Before booking time in one of our conference rooms, we recommend setting up your volunteer shift first through our online registration calendar.
