Saturday, July 27, in Partnership with the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and Combined Arms, Houston Food Bank took part in Operation Restock. Distributing disaster boxes and water to nearly 1500 Military and Veteran families, this was Houston’s largest resource distribution to the Veteran population.
Since Covid the rate of food insecurity in the veteran population has risen to 23.9%. Hurricane Beryl has only exacerbated these existing resource issues, making this distribution critical.
