CAP can provide referrals to many of our partner organizations through the Referral Partner program. To take advantage of these additional resources, please ask a Navigator how to get started.

Application Assistance* With The Following:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) cash benefits
  • Healthcare insurance through the ACA Marketplace
  • Children’s Medicaid
  • Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
  • Women’s Health Program (Family Planning, Health screenings thru Medicaid Program)
  • CHIP Perinatal Program
  • Texas Simplified Application Project (TSAP)
  • Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) / Medicare Savings Program (MSP)

PROGRAM BENEFITS

Specialized Skills Our CAP Navigators are trained, certified and have policy knowledge to walk you through the application process.
Services in Multiple Languages Services are available in English and Spanish (or other languages via state interpretation services).
Access to Meals One SNAP application generates access to 972.6 meals or 1165.68 lbs over 6 months – the equivalent of 7 full grocery carts for a family of 4.
Access to Additional Resources The Referral Partner Program provides referrals to households who are in need of additional resources. Our Resource Specialists have connections with outreach and social services in southeast Texas providing a localized experience for our neighbors.
Expansive Service Area The Houston Food Bank’s service area expands across 18 counties in southeast Texas including: Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Liberty, Madison, Montgomery, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington counties.
