National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, to build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world.

Event: Thank you for being HFB superhero’s!
Food: Ice cream Bar
Hero Day: Volunteers dress up as their favorite heroes (fictional or real) to highlight the heroic work they do every day, helping and supporting others selflessly.

Event: Trivia Day (Give Aways)
Throwback Day: Volunteers dress up in styles from different decades to symbolize the timeless impact they’ve made throughout the years.

Event: Houston Food Bank Food Trucks
Animal Day: Volunteers dress up as their favorite animals to represent their nurturing and protective instincts, just like animal’s care for their young.

Event: Picture Day #HoustonFoodBank
Team Spirit Day: Volunteers dress up in colors or attire representing their favorite sports teams to emphasize the teamwork and collaboration they exhibit in their volunteering efforts.

Event: Paint and relax at HFB
Time: 11:30 -1pm
Pajama Day: Pajama Day provides a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, allowing volunteers to feel comfortable and appreciated. It promotes a sense of camaraderie and fun among volunteers, making them feel valued for their dedication and hard work.

Event: Houston Food Bank Outdoor Movie Night (Volunteer & Staff)
Time: 8:30pm
Tropical Day: Tropical luau day brings a taste of paradise to volunteer appreciation week, transporting volunteers to a carefree island getaway. It creates a festive and vibrant atmosphere, filled with Hawaiian shirts, leis, and tropical décor, to express gratitude and celebrate the hard work and dedication of volunteers in bringing warmth and positivity to their communities.
