Hunger Fighter Patch Program For Scouts
A scouting experience aimed to engage and educate scouts in providing food for better lives. Upon fulfilling all of the requirements, scouts will have an understanding of food insecurity and earn their patch.
Food From the Bar

Food from the Bar is an annual, month-long competition in April among Houston’s legal community where participants work to earn points by donating food, funds and volunteer time to benefit the Houston Food Bank.
Hunger Game
The Houston Food Bank’s Hunger Game is a month-long competition in which groups of all sizes compete against each other to fight hunger in our community. Groups compete to raise the most meals by donating time, food, and funds.
Share Your Holidays Phone Bank
Share Your Holidays Phone Bank volunteers register clients by phone to receive holiday food boxes. In performing these duties, volunteers help tens of thousands of people access the food they need over the holidays.

Hunger Fighter Rewards
This initiative is a structured prize distribution system were we reward individuals who help us provide food for better lives by volunteering for either three shifts, six shifts, or nine shifts from mid-January to the end of March.
Prizes include Houston Dynamo tickets, Kemah Boardwalk All Day Ride Passes, Houston Zoo tickets, Dave & Buster’s $10 Super Charged Power Cards, Houston Ultimate Women’s Expo tickets and more!
No registration needed! Interested volunteers can visit the Houston Food Bank during this time to pick up a program to keep track of their volunteer shifts. Keegan Kitchen volunteers (ages 16 and older) can help prepare meals for children in after school programs and Warehouse volunteers (ages 6 and up) will help inspect, sort and repackage donated food items.
